《中国当代社会与文化英文教程(第三版)》图文并茂地提供一种展现中国当代社会历史文化风貌的视觉方式,凸显重要主题。全书共分为10个单元,每个单元以一个主题为中心,从中国国家基本概况谈起,涵盖各族人民、语言文学、教育制度、科学技术、传统节日、山川河流、饮食文化、中医疗法、中华瑰宝等诸多方面的文化知识。通过听说读写译等多种训练方式教授学生了解和介绍中华文化。课程内容生动、直观,符合当代大学生的认知心理。教材语篇长度、难度适中,生词短语有词汇表,文化背景知识有脚注,每篇文章后均有长难句注释,方便学习者学习和查找。
第三版对语言文学、教育制度、科学技术三个单元的选篇做了较大幅度的修改,更新了课文内容和统计数据,去除了内容相对陈旧的篇章,增加了与时俱进的选篇和经典作品与人物的介绍,比如在线教育、科幻小说与电影、问鼎茅盾文学奖的长篇小说《白鹿原》及其作者陈忠实、“捧着一颗心来,不带半根草去”的人民教育家陶行知等。

訾缨,北京林业大学外语学院教授。 在高校英语教学21年中,先后主讲过英语专业、涉外专业和大学英语各专业的英语精读、泛读、视听说、语法与考试指导、英美概况、大学英语、研究生综合英语、成人英语等课程。主编《英语综合技能培养与提高》《大学英语四级考试教程》等教材、工具书和教学参考书18部。主持过教改课题5项。 发表研究论文12篇。曾获省部级优秀社科专著三等奖一项、优秀论文二等奖3项。
李芝,北京林业大学外语学院教授、院长、博士、硕导,美国麻省理工学院访问学者。北京市研究生英语教学研究分会常务理事、北京高校英语专业委员会委员、中国英汉语比较研究会外语教育技术专业委员会理事。研究方向为二语习得、语料库语言学,外语教育。主持教育部人文社科基金项目、教育部新文科研究与改革实践项目、教育部考试院与剑桥大学应用联合项目及北京市精品视频公开课等项目,参加并完成国家社科基金2项,教育部人文社科基金项目1项;出版专著2部,教材20多部,发表学术论文30多篇。获得北京市高等教育学会研究生英语教学研究分会“第六届青年教师基本功比赛”特等奖。
